Dental Bridge for Tooth Replacement

Replacing a missing tooth is important for many aspects of your oral health. A popular option here at Greenville Family Dentistry is the dental bridge. The dental bridge is a long-lasting option for tooth replacement that restores your oral health and your smile!

Dental bridges affix a replacement tooth to dental crowns which will go over the teeth adjacent to where the open space is. The replacement tooth is often snugged between two crowns, which is why it is referred to as a bridge. Bridges can be made to look just like your natural teeth, so it will blend right in with your smile.

A dental bridge is custom-created for each individual by reshaping the enamel on the teeth the crowns will be placed onto, and taking an impression of the reshaped teeth, the open space, and the area around it. This is to ensure that the bridge will have the perfect fit and the perfect bite.

Replacing a tooth that has been lost or extracted is important for your other teeth, your jaw, and your gums. The replacement tooth will prevent the other teeth from shifting toward the open space. Also, when a tooth is lost, the bone in that area begins to degenerate and change the shape of the jaw. When you replace the tooth, this will no longer happen, and your jaw and gums will continue to be healthy and normal.

Lumineers

Lumineers are an ultra-thin type of veneers that help improve your smile by covering imperfections of your teeth. There are many reasons our patients here at Greenville Family Dentistry choose Lumineers, including covering staining or discoloration, to eliminate gaps and spaces, to correct misalignment of teeth, and to reshape teeth that are misshapen.

The Lumineers are made from very thin pieces of porcelain that are bonded securely to the teeth. The quality and end result is the same as veneers, except there is better comfort among patients choosing Lumineers from our dentist Dr. Emuedue. As a thinner version of veneers, they provide patients with many benefits.

Traditional veneers require reshaping and filing down of the natural tooth prior to fitting on the veneer. With Lumineers, less preparation work needs to be done to the teeth because they are much thinner. Patients benefit by losing less of their natural teeth, completing the procedure in less time, and paying less for the cosmetic treatment. Here at Greenville Family Dentistry, we offer Lumineers as a great option for restoring your smile.

Night Guards

If you or your sleep partner is suffering from teeth grinding, you know how it can interfere with getting a good night’s rest. At Greenville Family Dentistry, we offer solutions for teeth grinding.

Teeth grinding involves clenching the jaw and gnashing the teeth unconsciously during sleep. The exact cause of teeth grinding is not known, but it is very common and occurs in both children and adults. It some instances, grinding the teeth can lead to damaged teeth, jaw pain and headaches.

We offer custom fit night guards in order to treat teeth grinding. The night guard acts as a barrier between your top and bottom teeth, which prevents grinding and gnashing of your teeth.

The process of making a night guard is easy. We start by taking an impression of your teeth, and the guard is then made in a dental lab. Since your night guard is made specifically for you, it fits comfortably and allows you to breathe normally.

In addition to night guards, we offer a variety of services including periodontal treatment, bonding, extractions, TMJ treatment and other services.

For more information on teeth grinding treatment or in order to have a night guard made, please call Greenville Family Dentistry at 903-455-6701.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants
At Greenville Family Dentistry we can help you achieve an attractive and complete smile with dental implants. Whether you’re already missing teeth due to decay, disease or injury or are in need of an extraction, dental implants are a long-lasting solution for filling the gaps in your smile.

The implant process takes between three to six months to complete and starts with the installation of a titanium screw in your jaw bone, which will serve as your replacement tooth root. It will be placed in your jaw through an incision in your gums where the replacement tooth will be. Then the gums are sutured, and the jaw bone is left to heal around the implant for three to six months. This healing process is called osseointegration, and during this time, you will receive a temporary crown so that you may eat, speak and smile normally.

Once your implant has healed, Dr. Christopher Emuedue will install the abutment on top of the implant. This will serve as the foundation for your permanent crown, which is custom made for your smile. Once the crown is fixed in place, you will be able to enjoy a smile that both looks and feels natural.
